Mallorca (Majorca) forms part of the Balearic Islands along with Menorca and Ibiza and is the largest of the three. The islands are located on the east coast of Spain and is less than an hours flight from Barcelona and only a couple of hours from most UK airports.

The island seems to cater very well for all tastes and age groups. The historic parts of Palma the capital is very popular with tourists due to the stunning Cathedral, traditional, historic architecture, museums, large marina and excellent shopping.

The whole northern coastline from Alcudia to Palma, taking in the areas of Pollenca, Lluc, Port de Soller and Valldemossa are stunning and makes for a very enjoyable drive and is very popular with walkers and cyclists. Indeed, many cycling events take place on the island throughout the year and there are plenty of clubs and groups for walking enthusiasts.

Towns like Magaluf also cater for the young, looking for fun and excitement, bars and clubs and give the island a down-market reputation, but you could easily spend a fortnight touring the island and not come across places like this at all.
