Puerto Banus, Costa del Sol, Andalucia, Spain

Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is an attractive and glamorous marina located west of Marbella and just outside San Pedro de Alcantara. Many images of Marbella show scenes of Puerto Banus that many day-visitors to Marbella wouldn't see unless they have a car or get on a bus and travel some 5 kilometres further up the coastal road. The marina is surrounded by shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and this a wide choice of entertainment both day and night including various trendy nightclubs and a casino.

The port side has a large El Corte Ingles department store and further shops and restaurants are located around the perimeter. El Corte Ingles offers a superb shopping experience similar to John Lewis and also houses a travel shop where you can book various excursions to places like Morocco. To the north or the road there is the bull ring, a small shopping centre and various restaurants. Beyond that there are nine 18-hole golf courses within a 10km radius.

Puerto Banus was created by Jose Banus who gave his name to the port with the desire of creating one of the most prestigious marinas in Europe that tied in with the image of Marbella. Attracting the rich and famous for decades, Puerto Banus has expanded and now provides residents and visitors alike with a cosmopolitan environment packed full of amenities. The media in Spain and the UK also present a glamorous image focusing on the designer shops, luxury cars and superb yachts moored on the harbour.
