One of the most attractive
settings on the southern coast of Spain, Puerto
de Cabopino enjoys one of the best beaches in
Andalucia. The port is a short drive from
Marbella and just off the coastal highway between
Elviria and
Calahonda.
Cabopino is surrounded by attractive apartments
around courtyards with shops, cafes and restaurants
overlooking the quiet little marina.
Cabopino marina is a pleasant place to dine during
the day and in the evening with some fabulous
restaurants. From pizza to traditional Spanish
favourites such as paella and international cuisine
such as Chinese. All tastes are catered for and
vegetarian menus are also available.
A attractive beach, where several family beach
restaurants and the typical chiringos are located
will offer you the pleasure of enjoying the savoury
grilled sardines. An old fortified watchtower
still stands proudly by the sand dunes alongside
the beach. From its privileged position it is
possible to see all along the coast to Marbella
and
Gibraltar and Africa beyond, a spectacular backdrop for
a spectacular beach.
The sand dunes are popular with nudists and after
a certain point, the beach is "clothing optional"
rather than naturist and signposted "Zona Natura"
so you shouldn't find yourself wondering into
the area by mistake.
The wide range of activities available at the
marina include chartering a boat or trimaran and
dolphin trips, para-gliding or scuba diving. Hire
of jet skis, banana boats and inflatable rings
are also available here. There is a fully stocked
and equipped marine and watersports shop on site.
Fishing is permitted on the sea wall. On the other
side of the motorway within walking distance you
will find the
Cabopino
golf course.
