Olivas Villa is a large private villa with swimming pool available for rent direct from the owners. The house is situated in the small hamlet of Vega De Santa Maria, which is just outside Pizarra and Alora with easy access to the road. The house is ideal for parties of golfers, clubs, large families and also couples who like peace and quiet. The house is in prime position to be able to explore the Costa Del Sol, both the beaches and historical towns and villages as it has excellent road and rail links. The villa is 5 minutes drive from Alora train station with an excellent hourly air conditioned train service to the coast including Malaga, Benalmadena (with its award winning marina), Torremolinos and Fuengirola. If you want to visit the coast for a night out or don’t fancy driving on the busy coastal roads you can use this service. The villa was once 2 individual properties therefore it can be rented as a whole providing 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (sleeps up to 16 people), or the main wing (with your own separate access) of the villa with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (sleeping 11). If renting the main wing only a hostess or catering service is available on request. Whichever option you choose, you will have exclusive use of the swimming pool as the villa is never rented to 2 separate parties at the same time. We also provide bed and breakfast/guesthouse accommodation for parties out of peak season. This private self catering holiday villa between Alora and Pizarra is available for rent directly from the owner.
Accommodation
Bedrooms Bedroom 3 is a double room and has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 4 has a double bed and two single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 5 is the dormitory room and has 5 single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Bathrooms There are 2 bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs each with hand basin, double shower and toilet.
Living Room/Dining Area There is a lounge and dining area, also a fully working kitchen including plates, utensils and saucepans, food can be eaten on the veranda if preferred. Full use of swimming pool is included. If renting the extra part of the property, the following is included: Bedroom 1 - Kingsize bed and 1 single bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 - Twin room, including wardrobe and chest of drawers. Extra bathroom Additional kitchen including extra crockery, utensils and pans, also dining area. Web access is also available if the extra rooms are rented.
Notes All rooms have full air conditioning units, fresh towels and additional bedding. Rooms will be cleaned weekly or as per your own request if you would like your room cleaned daily please ask when you check in. Iron and ironing board are also available. The pool and garden area will be maintained daily at a time that is mutually agreed with the owner.
Outside The house is set in 2 acres of fruit trees and has plenty of private parking. Full use of private 8x4 pool with roman stairs, there are sun loungers and a dining area on the veranda which can be used by guests.
Location Details Activities
El Chorro (Approx 20-30 minute drive) Drive to the lakes via a dam built across the dramatic 200m high Guadalhorce river gorge (Garganta del Chorro) to the ‘lake district of Malaga’. Enjoy swimming, fishing or a picnic on the shores of these beautiful blue lakes set in the heart of rugged mountains.
El Torcal (Approx 45 minute drive) Famous for its unusual limestone formations, an area of outstanding beauty. At its highest point (1,339m) there are breath-taking views over the countryside, across the sea to the African coastline. An area for rock climbers, serious walkers or those who just want to observe the wildlife and the world below.
Fuente De Piedra (Approx 40 minute drive) Famous for its beautiful natural lake, which is visited by the second largest colony of flamingos in Europe. Arriving in the spring you can watch their chicks being reared. The lake is also home to many other bird species all year round (bee-eaters, storks, arocets, plovers etc).
Ronda (Approx 60 minute drive) Steeped in history, set on the towering plateau of the Serrana de Ronda, this fascinating town is famous for its plunging river gorge ‘El Tajo’. The medieval and more modern parts of town are linked by a stone bridge that once housed a prison. Ronda is also famous for its bullring - the oldest and most beautiful in Spain.
Malaga (Approx 40 minute drive) This city has a wealth of historical and cultural sites together with some fabulous architecture. The Cathedral and Alcazaba fortress are well worth a visit as is the Picasso museum. A good selection of shops will also please those who love browsing and spending money!
Seville (Approx 2- 2.5-hour drive) The capital city of Andalucia and according to legend was founded by Hercules. Seville lies on the banks of the Guadalquiver and offers one of the largest historic centres in Europe - choose from La Giralda Cathedral, or the Alcazar Palace to mention just a few.
Coast/Beaches Torremolinos and Benalmadena are easily reached with a 30 minute drive and Marbella in 45 minutes. The Lakes in El Chorro are reached within 30 minutes and are a spectacular sight.
Golf There are a number of Golf Clubs around the area the below list is only a few that are available. Alhaurin Golf, Alhaurin El Grande 20 minutes 18 hole. Parador Malaga de Golf 30 minutes 18 hole. Both excellent quality, demanding golf courses. In addition El Candado, Malaga (30 minutes) Four noteworthy golf courses in Mijas Costa ( 40 Minutes) including La Cala Mijas Lauro Golf in Alhaurin De La Torre (45 Minutes) There are nine excellent courses in Marbella (1 hour) including Cabopino Golf 18 hole par 71 sea and mountain views and Los Arqueros (designed by Seve Ballesteros) .
Travel & Distances Malaga is the nearest airport and is 30km from the house. Pick up can be arranged please ask for this at the time of booking. Car Hire is essential to be able to explore the surrounding area. The house is situated between the towns of Alora and Pizarra, approx five to ten minutes drive. Both towns offer supermarkets, banks, chemist, post office, shops, bars and restaurants. Tapas and fresh fish are popular here and are readily available at a number of local places. Alora and Pizarra hold weekly outdoor markets, which amongst other things provide a good selection of fruit and vegetables, clothes and shoes etc
