Location Details And Activities |
Puerto del Carmen has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants open until late in the evening. As the name suggests, there is also a harbour on the edge of the town. Arrecife is Lanzarote's main city about 20 minutes drive where all the major shops and department stores are found.
Coast/Beach
The main beaches in Puerto del Carmen are Playa Blanca in the centre of Puerto del Carmen, Playa de Los Pocillos which is popular with wind surfers and Playa de Matagorda near the airport. However, the island has lots of other beach areas locally, for example Papagayo which has 5 beautiful sandy beaches.
Golf
There is an 18 golf course called Lanzarote Golf in Puerto Puerto del Carmen which is a modern course opened in July 2008. It's a very challenging and exciting course and is the Lanzarote's second course. The other golf course is Costa Teguise Golf an 18 hole. Par 72 course surrounded by palm trees
