    Location Details And Activities
    Mijas Pueblo - 20 min's
A short drive up into the hills takes you to a pretty Andalucian village with its whitewashed houses winding narrow streets and stunning mountain setting, which provides magnificent views of the coast below.

    Fuengirola – 10 min's
Fuengirola is famous for its five miles of sandy beaches, flanked by high-rise hotels and residential blocks of apartments with magnificent views of the Mediterranean and sweeping coastline. The wide promenade with palm trees, colourful flower beds and seating make for a pleasant stroll. The beaches known as Boliches, Gaviotas and Torreblanca hold a European blue flag award.
There are also a considerable percentage of British and other nationalities with the result being an impressively wide variety of entertainment and restaurant choice, ranging from the Andalucian traditional tapas (bar snacks) and shellfish dishes to the British fish and chips. On Tuesdays and you will find the largest and liveliest street market on the coast. There is also a Saturday boot sale here with the predictably intriguing selection of items on sale.

    Benalmadena – 15 min's
Benalmadena is situated between Torremolinos and Fuengirola and covers a long stretch of the coastline. The stunning Benalmadena marina is surrounded by a wide variety of shops, open air cafes, restaurants and home to the Sea life Centre.

    Puerto Banus – 30 min's
The stunning marina at Puerto Banus with its luxurious yachts, trendy restaurants, bars and boutiques makes this playground for the jet set and well worth a visit during your stay on the Costa del Sol.

    Malaga – 25 min's
Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol where the attractions include the Picasso Museum, Gibralfaro castle and Malaga’s old quarters with the cathedral and churches. You will also discover the small narrow streets are lined with shops, cafes and bars.

    Ronda – 90 min's
The old town of Ronda is famous for its spectacular setting and the Puente Nuevo bridge which spans the El Tajo ravine. Ronda is also the home of the oldest Bull Ring in Spain.

    Coast/Beaches
    La Cala – 10 min's
This 2,000 meter long beach, with south and south west orientation, won the E.U. Blue Flag award in 2002. This is a lovely semi-urban beach in summer and winter alike, with a very nice promenade and plenty of good beach bars and restaurants along the way.
There are beach beds and parasols for hire, public toilets and changing facilities available and showers at various points along the beach. In the summer period there is a lifeguard service and the beach is accessible to the disabled. There is plenty of parking, but it can sometimes become difficult and congested at the peak of the high season in July and especially August. The hire of water sports gear is in abundance in summer, but less evident in from the end of October to Easter, when the beach is quieter
    .
    Calahonda – 15mins
This is the longest of the Mijas Costa beaches at over 4,500 meters long. Since it is right at the foot of the large Sitio de Calahonda urbanization, it is a well used beach, with ramp access, many beach bars and lots of activity, but it also has some quieter corners for those who prefer a bit of piece and quiet. This beach is perfect for the whole family and caters for sunbathers, scuba divers and fishermen alike. It is a fairly straight line of beach with golden sand and plenty of beach beds and parasols for rent and a good choice of lively beach bars for refreshment and entertainment.

    Golf
    Golf Courses
There are nearly 60 golf courses in Andalucia, of which 30 are on the Costa del Sol. The fine weather makes golf popular all year round.
When the Costa del Sol experienced a renaissance as a winter golf resort in the late 1980s, the phrase Costa del Golf was coined. Between 1985 and 1991, no fewer than 17 new golf courses appeared, bringing the total along this 50 mile stretch of coast up to over 30. This concentration of quality golf courses, combined with the sunny and warm winter climate, has made it unrivalled as a winter golf destination for northern Europeans. They in turn have emerged as a serious force at all levels of golf.
