This location is on the direct coastal railway route from Malaga City Centre > Malaga Airport > Torremolinos > Benalmadena > Fuengirola and therefore easily accessible without a car (www.renfe.es - www.renfe.es/cercanias/malaga/index.html).
Plaza Mayor located on
the outskirt of Malaga on the Costa del Sol, Spain is
a large shopping and leisure center designed in a traditional
Spanish village style with a touch of Aztec style thrown
in the mix.
Contrary to information published on various websites,
Plaza Mayor is not next to the airport but is around
8 kilometers further along the motorway. The easiest
way to find Plaza Mayor (without going by train) is to head for the airport then
get into the left lane when you see the signs for Benalmadena
and follow this route (don't get into the Torremolinos/airport
lane). You will see the signs for Parador De Golf and
the multi coloured building to the side of the motorway
on your right where you turn off. If coming from Benalmadena
to Malaga, just look for the centre on your left and
turn off at the Parador De Golf junction.
Plaza Major has lot of restaurants, a multi screen cinema,
a bowling alley and shops that are a mixture of factory
outlets (including Nike) and other retailers.
All in all, a pleasant day or evening out. |
