Alcaidesa is at the far western end of the
Costa del Sol, far enough away from the main
resorts to be peaceful and quiet and located
approximately one and half hours from Malaga
Airport, one and half hours from Jerez and less
than 15 minutes from low duty shopping in Gibraltar.
Alcaidesa is situated between San Roque and
Sotogrande at kilometer 124 of the A7 motorway,
with access by a service road from Junction
124.
The area known as Arcades Beach comprises approximately
4 square kilometers that stretch from the motorway
two kilometers down to the beachfront.
Alcaidesa enjoys beautiful Mediterranean views
and great beaches, far superior to areas like
Marbella though more windy. The two kilometers
stretch accompanying the village has earned
blue flag status for meeting high standards
regarding cleanliness and environmental friendliness.
The village square is located in the centre
of Alcaidesa where local amenities include supermarket,
pharmacy and bars/restaurants.
Next to the beach you have
golf, covered by the Alcaidesa
Golf Course. Over 18 holes, the Alcaidesa
link-type course overlooks the Mediterranean and
the rock of Gibraltar, offering the golfer a unique
place to play. The physical conditions of the
terrain are incorporated in the production and
is a course where various professional tournaments
have been held including the Junior Ryder Cup.
You can also play at San Roque Golf Resort, Valderrama,
Sotogrande and other golf courses within a short
drive. A day trip to Gibraltar or the southern
Costa de La Luz is very easy due to the quiet
stretch of motorway all year round on this part
of the coast
