The original heart of Benalmádena
(Benalmádena Pueblo) remains as a typical Andalucian
village in the foothills of the mountains that
sweep down to the shore. The narrow, flower-filled
streets hold plenty of traces of the former civilizations
that used to exist in the area. This picturesque
village and its coastline are eminently suitable
for tourism, with a population of over 60,000
people at the height of the season.
There are many local attractions, these include;
Tivoli World, an amusement park offering a wide
selection of rides and water attractions and live
performances from international artists. Teleferica
is a cable car that takes you to the top of the
Calamorro mountain which, at 750m above sea level,
offers stunning views of the coastline below.
La Poloma Park with more then 200,000 square meters
of stunning gardens overlooking the sea. Selwo
Marina, a theme park with dolphins, sea lions
and eagles is located next to La Poloma Park.
The sea life centre is a chance to amaze your
eyes with hundreds of tropical species including
moray eels, jelly fish, sea horses and more than
200 species of shark from all around the world. |
