Iznajar, in the province
of Cordoba, Andalucia, Spain is a small village
on a hillside with a large reservoir dominating
the landscape. The remains of a Moors castle at
the top looks out over the huge shimmering lake,
created as a reservoir some thirty years ago.
The area looks particular stunning in winter and
spring before the hot summer sun turns the countryside
brown.
The shore at Iznajar has white sand and is a perfect
spot for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing. The
views from all around this area are stunning and
being fairly high up the air is clear and fresh.
There is a selection of bars in the town and several
small convenience stores. The streets are extremely
narrow so you would be best advised to park at
the top of the man street and walk into the centre.
Rute and Lucena are both bustling towns with supermarkets
and bars, so all your shopping can be done there.
The Subbetica National Park with more breathtaking
scenery is close at hand where nature lovers
will love the abundance of wildlife and flowers.
