Mijas coast is highly related
to Fuengirola, up to the point that there exist
streets shared by both cities. Las Lagunas and
Cala Mijas is where most of the luxury housing
properties are situated. The Coastal area of Mijas
is developed for tourism even in the small coves
where the mountains reach down to the sea.
The towns of
Mijas,
Fuengirola and
Benalmadena are a 10 to 15 minute drive, the
La
Canada shopping Centre towards
Marbella only 15 minutes away. The area has also recently
been boosted with the construction of the huge
Parque
Miramar shopping centre and multi screen cinema
just 5 minutes drive from Miraflores/Calahonda.
The nearest marinas are
Benalmadena
Marina and
Cabopino
Port with their shops, restaurants and nightlife.
An hour's drive and the visitor will be in the
beautiful mountainous region of
Ronda.
The local town is lively but not wild. Distance
to town centre 1km. Marbella, with bars, clubs
and restaurants is a 15 minute drive.

area (at least 16) including
Miraflores
Golf, El Chaparral, La Cala Resort (3 courses),
MIjas Golf,
Cabopino.
Calahonda
Situated in the province of Malaga midway between
Marbella and Fuengirola, Calahonda is a collection
of urbanizations comprising of apartments and
villas. Puerto Banus, southern Europe's premier
boating and leisure centre, is only 15 minutes
away and Malaga airport can be reached within
20 minutes via a fast modern highway.
Its situation and southern orientation, provides
the area with the unique climate in Europe and,
coming from the coast of Africa, clearly visible
from the urbanization, refreshing night winds.
The urbanization extends gently from the coast
up to the undulating hills 300 meters above sea
level, offering fantastic views of the surrounding
countryside running down to the sea, and along
the coastline to Gibraltar and Africa. The Atlas
Mountains and African coastline are often clearly
visible.
Sitio de Calahonda is the largest property development
you will find between Marbella and Fuengirola.
In fact, this neighbourhood has grown so successfully
that it could qualify as a town.
Rural flavour and coastal lifestyle are two of
Calahonda's most attractive features, because,
although the area is developed, its founder was
keen on green areas, large plots and limits on
apartment buildings. Thus, the area has grown
in a generally peaceful and rustic fashion.
While the vast majority of Calahonda's 600,000
square meters are devoted to villas, townhouses
and space for four golf courses, selected areas
have been dedicated to providing residents with
every amenity imaginable. There are, therefore,
three commercial centres which house most of the
development's 45 restaurants, cafeterias and pubs
as well as seven banks, several supermarkets and
a wide variety of other businesses including:
hardware, furniture, garden supply, travel agencies,
car hire, car repair, property management and
much more. A chemist and three medical centres,
offering 24-hour service, provide for health care
needs. Furthermore, the state-funded Hospital
Costa del Sol is well known as the Coast's state-of-the-art
medical facility and is just minutes from Calahonda.
Sports are easily incorporated into a Calahonda
lifestyle. For starters, there are a total of
10 golf courses within a 10-kilometre radius of
this urbanization, which also has its own port,
Cabopino. And having its own share of coastline
puts a spotlight on a wide array of water sports
as well. Tennis courts and a fitness centre are
also available to residents.
Riviera del Sol
Located immediately between Calahonda and Miraflores,
Riviera del Sol continues the coastal stretch
and urbanizations that make up Mijas Costa.
There are several small stores, restaurants, bars
supermarkets etc within easy distance of your
holiday / vacation apartment or villa. the shops
are opposite the very peaceful Princess Diana
park and gardens. Also they just also built a
new supermarket (Opencor) on the corner adjacent
to the entrance to Riviera.
Miraflores
Miraflores is one of the Costa del Sol's top leisure
and resort developments. Located in the hills
above Mijas Costa it offers breathtaking views
of the countryside down to the sea. Miraflores
