The surrounding countryside
remains unspoilt and the whole area never gets
overcrowded. Sotogrande is custom built for boat
enthusiasts and the marina here is possibly the
best in Andalucia. The glorious weather and beautiful
surroundings make it a real pleasure. The area
offers a variety of outdoor sports including horse
riding, Polo, tennis and three golf courses. The
area is also good for cycling holidays as it's
moderately flat and large, the roads are wide
and there are speed humps on most roads. There
is a cycle lane that runs from Sotogrande International
School all the way to Castellar de la Frontera.
Whilst comparatively quiet, Sotogrande is a popular
destination for European holiday / vacation makers
and is therefore busier in July and August.
